The US Airways pilot statistics and aircraft order data has been merged with the American Airlines pilot statistics and aircraft order data.
The merged group can be found under the American Airlines Pilot Demand page. Interestingly, the number of retirements per year for the combined carriers reaches almost 1000 pilots in the next decade! That is a lot of pilots to lose in one year. In other words, that would mean a pilot would be retiring every 8 -9 hours for an entire year. For now though American will lag behind in its attrition compared to other peer carriers.
It is likely this projection will lessen as some pilots take early retirement.
