Delta announces Pilot hiring Demand last week with the need to hire 3500 pilots over the next 10 years. According to the two models AudriesAircraftAnalysis has of Delta Airlines pilot hiring, this is fairly accurate and ties very closely with the current overstaffed model. Currently, the overstaffed model is projecting that 3,741 pilots will be needed by Delta Airlines by the end of 2021 which is just within Delta’s more conservative estimate of 3500 pilots.
Unfortunately, for those looking to get on at Delta that model isn’t showing significant hiring until late 2014 early 2015. Expect this model to takeover as the primary model next year as Delta Airlines Reports come out.
